Kandace Heck Named to MPR Board of Trustees

ST. PAUL, Minn., April 20, 2020 — Minnesota Public Radio has elected Kandace Heck as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Heck currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Audit Executive at U.S. Bank.

Heck brings to the board 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing in the banking and financial services industries. As Chief Audit Executive, she is responsible for evaluating and providing assurance to U.S. Bank management and the organization’s own Board of Directors on the effectiveness of risk management and strength of the control environment.

“Kandace brings great perspectives and experience to our board,” said Jon McTaggart, CEO of Minnesota Public Radio. “We are fortunate to have her expertise and her heart for our mission involved in the important decisions that will shape the future of MPR.”

Heck started her career with Deloitte & Touche and served as General Auditor for Northern Trust Corporation. She worked with Goldman Sachs in the U.S., Europe and Australia for 18 years in various controllership positions.    

In addition to her board membership with MPR, Heck has served on boards for community theater, public libraries, and organizations committed to improving women’s workplaces and economic advancement. She studied accounting and business at Aquinas College and received her MBA in finance and international business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
