Libby Hlavka did not start out a public radio listener. “My parents listened to WCCO radio during my childhood. I was in college, driving in an unfamiliar city in the rain, when I discovered Car Talk (the popular show from NPR) and thought, what a wonderful companion.”

Jeff said, “We want our three kids to develop a deeper understanding of current events. We are exposing them to MPR news and getting the print newspaper in the house. Critical thinking is essential.”
“Whether it’s All Things Considered, Marketplace, Your Classical, KNOW, The Current, podcasts and other content - I think there's a sense of community that people are eager to identify with,” Ken says. “In challenging times, public institutions are at their best when they can give oxygen to hope”.
“We hope that [MPR] goes on forever, however long forever is,” they say. “And we think there are a lot of people like us who support public media in a big way, and who have the same hopes as us.”
