The Made of Minnesota pop-up experience was born out of a need to bridge a funding gap after the loss of federal funding in July. Proceeds from the retail experience will help MPR in building a sustainable future.
“Since losing federal funding, we’ve been trying to find creative ways to fill that gap,” said Duchesne Drew, president of Minnesota Public Radio. “The Made of Minnesota pop-up has been a part of that and pays homage to the people who inspire us and keep us running: Minnesotans. Each purchase directly sustains MPR News, The Current, and YourClassical, ensuring that trusted journalism and independent music remain strong for communities across Minnesota.”
