Minnesota Public Radio Presents Author Po Bronson on Strategies for Nurturing Children Wednesday, Sept. 23
Sep 16, 2009
Po Bronson, co-author of Nurtureshock, comes to Minnesota Public Radio's UBS Forum to discuss how modern society's strategies for nurturing children are backfiring.
WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: UBS Forum at Minnesota Public Radio, 480 Cedar Street, St. Paul
TICKETS: Admission is free but reservations are required. Go to mprnewsq.org.
WHAT: Jeff Horwich, host of MPR's program In The Loop, will interview Bronson about why kids lie, how praising your kids can hurt them, and how babies interpret race. Bronson argues how some key sciences of childrearing have been overlooked and how we haven't been paying enough attention to research done in the last 20 years. By bringing attention to the science, Bronson is making himself the Malcolm Gladwell of the parenting and education world. Nurtureshock has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered and the cover of Newsweek.
TUNE IN: Program will be recorded for broadcast, date TBA.
