Minnesota Public Radio recently elected Siddharth “Sid” Gandhi as the newest member of the organization’s Board of Trustees. Gandhi serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy and Enterprise Technology Officer at Securian Financial Group.
The Current has named Kelsey Brannan as its new assistant program director. Brannan’s name is one familiar to The Current, where she served as music assistant from 2014 to 2016.
MPR News has named Stephanie Curtis as Director of Programming after an extensive national search. A veteran of the MPR newsroom, Curtis currently serves as Senior Producer of Audience Development and Engagement, a role she’s held since 2016.
After an extensive national search, The Current has appointed David Safar to lead the station as Managing Director, a new role that will oversee the long-term strategy, product development, and planning of The Current.
Classical MPR’s Melissa Ousley will become the host of the Friday evening live Minnesota Orchestra broadcasts at the start of the 2019/2020 season beginning Sept. 20.
Minnesota Public Radio has elected two new members to its Board of Trustees. Shawntera M. Hardy, cofounder and Strategy Lead at Civic Eagle, and Vivek Agrawal, senior partner with McKinsey & Company, were recently appointed to the board.
The women of The Current will present a day of programming celebrating women-identifying artists and their music, and across the nation, several AAA stations will join in celebrating International Women’s Day – a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women globally – with all-day lineups of music by women, special online content, guest interviews and in-studio sessions.
The Current announced today it has hired Brittany Lind as host of the Duluth Local Show. In her role, Lind will oversee operations and lead audience engagement efforts and community partnerships at stations in Ely, Grand Marais, Hibbing, Hinckley and Duluth.
The Current announced it has promoted music director, David Safar, to the new role of Head of Music, Artist and Label Relations for The Current. In this new role, David is responsible for leading the direction of the music on The Current, The Current’s streams, and curation on digital platforms.
