Community Engagement at MPR

MPR Team at Pride Parade 2023

At MPR we’re actively working to create programming and events that better reflect Minnesota and support the region in seeing itself more clearly and valuing itself more deeply. In short, we’re on a path to be more relevant to more Minnesotans, whether they live in North Minneapolis or on the North Shore, in Red Lake or on Lake Minnetonka. Here are some examples of the kind of programming we’re already doing:

MPR News

North Star Journey

North Star Journey is a celebration of communities in Minnesota and the champions who are doing the work that we should be bringing a voice to. We hope to bring new understandings of our state and what brought us to today.

North Star Journey Live

Minnesota has suffered from persistent racial disparities for years. This we know. But what can be done? North Star Journey Live (formerly known as In Focus) is a live event series and reoccurring topic on MPR News with Angela Davis centered around what Minnesota’s diverse communities need to thrive.
