89.3 The Current presents Rock the Cradle, a free day of family fun, held at two of the state's premier arts and culture institutions. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown from 2,500 attendees its first year to just under 13,000 attendees last year. Families and social groups from all over the Twin Cities come together to enjoy music, art, books and their community in a meaningful, entertaining and engaging setting.

The Current announced today that it will celebrate its fifth year of broadcasting with a party January 29, 2010, at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The lineup is a cast of all-star Minnesotan musicians: Solid Gold, P.O.S., Mason Jennings, Lookbook and The Twilight Hours (John Munson and Matt Wilson).
Classical Minnesota Public Radio to Host the Parker Quartet During a First-Ever Artists-in-Residency

Classical Minnesota Public Radio announced today its first-ever artists-in-residency, the Parker Quartet. The group will embark on a multi-tiered program throughout 2010--which includes appearances on Performance Today broadcasts, concerts throughout the region and at a non-traditional venue, The Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The group will also teach masters classes, and will host a national string quartet competition for aspiring classical musicians.

MPR News Programming to Begin Broadcasting on KAUR 89.1 FM Starting September 15, 2009

Augustana College and Minnesota Public Radio announced today that MPR News will begin broadcasting on KAUR 89.1 FM starting September 15, 2009. Augustana College will continue to own the station, located on its Sioux Falls campus, and MPR will provide day-to-day programming, operations and maintenance.
KCCM, 91.1 FM in Fargo/Moorhead and KRSU, 91.3 FM in Appleton
