Classical Minnesota Public Radio Names Violinist Chad Hoopes 2011-2012 Artist-In-Residence, Announces Inaugural Concert

Classical Minnesota Public Radio has named a teenaged prodigy its third-ever Artist-in-Residence. At age 17, Chad Hoopes, a student at Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, has played with orchestras around the world. As Classical MPR's Artist-In-Residence, he will visit elementary and middle school classrooms around the state, performing and talking about the importance of music and the arts.

Minnesota Public Radio announced today that it will provide extended news and information service to listeners in the Rochester area. Listeners should set their radios to 91.7 FM for MPR News and 90.7 FM for Classical MPR beginning 12:00 AM August 24. This change will also affect the Winona stations which will broadcast MPR News at 101.9 FM and Classical MPR at 107.3 FM.

Listeners should set their radios to 90.5 FM for MPR News and 91.5 FM for Classical MPR beginning 12:00 AM August 17. This change will also affect the Albert Lea, St. James and Sleepy Eye stations.
