New political district maps shake up Minnesota politics

New congressional and legislative district maps released by a judicial panel Tuesday set the field for candidates to run on for the next 10 years. Some of the biggest changes in the new map come to Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.

Under artistic guidance from principal bassoon Fei Xie, conductor Junping Qian led the Minnesota Orchestra on Saturday in music that honored family traditions and themes of unity and health. The program featured assistant concertmaster Rui Du, Gao Hong on pipa, jing hu master Zhengang Xie and yue qin master Mei Hu.
