“Financially Inclined From Marketplace” is a show about the money lessons we wish we learned earlier — the ones that can help us live life on our own terms. Host and financial literacy advocate Yanely Espinal is back for Season 2 to talk with some really smart people — influencers, college students and experts.  This season will run the gamut from how to pay for college to savings strategies and cryptocurrencies, all the way to entering the workforce and paying taxes. Hmong New Year a chance to uplift past and future

Traditionally meant to celebrate the end of harvest in southeast Asia, Hmong New Year is now a way to celebrate Hmong heritage and uplift new generations. People of all ages came dressed in traditional clothing for the festivities, which included food, various competitions and a range of Hmong vendors.

Art Hounds: The past and present of Native art

The November exhibit at the Northwoods Friends of the Arts in Cook is “Native American Art: Past and Present," featuring work by local Native American artists. Off-Leash Theater Productions presents its second “Off-Kilter Cabaret” this weekend and The Commonweal Theatre Company stages the musical comedy “She Loves Me.”

Unfurled! Minnesota state flag public submissions revealed

Minnesotans hoping to influence the look of their new state flag like their stars and their loons — lots and lots of loons. There are loony ideas, too, including a pitch with a hot dish at the fore. The State Emblems Redesign Commission unfurled what could be Minnesota's biggest art critique in history by publishing more than 2,100 proposed flag designs sent in by the public.
