'We don't get this time back': For new mom, pandemic has brought both joy and deep sadness

Jorie Bernhardt gave birth in early April to her first child, a daughter, shortly after the first COVID-related restrictions went into effect.
Very little about her daughter’s birth itself went according to plan: Her doula couldn’t be there. The hospital had visitor restrictions in place. She felt alone and afraid.
And since then, all those milestones and rituals — all the ways she'd hoped to introduce her baby to her community — have changed.

Members of Minnesota’s congressional delegation sent out their response as dozens of President Donald Trump supporters breached security perimeters and entered the U.S. Capitol as Congress was meeting, expected to vote and affirm Joe Biden’s presidential win.

One person has been shot at the U.S. Capitol as dozens of supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the building and violently clashed with police. The White House says National Guard troops along with other federal protective services are en route.

Angry supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday, marching through the building, shouting and waving Trump and American flags and forcing a halt to congressional deliberations over challenges to Joe Biden's Electoral College victory.

Warrant says police were trying to catch Idd in illegal gun sale; officers ID'd in the fatal shooting

A search warrant filed Monday says Minneapolis police suspected Dolal Idd had a high-capacity pistol and tried to arrest him before the fatal confrontation last week. Separately on Monday, the Minnesota BCA released names of three officers involved in the shooting. All three are on standard administrative leave.

Two new on-air hosts joining The Current

The Current announced two new on-air voices joining the station, Maddie Schwappach and Zeke Salo. Schwappach is the former music director at the University of Minnesota's Radio K; she has also been a contributor to The Current and is a former intern at the station. Salo worked at Minneapolis radio stations Go 95.3 and 96.3, both on the air and behind the scenes, interviewing artists, producing content and coordinating promotions.
