Thanksgiving Day Help from The Splendid Table

Soggy stuffing? Burnt pie crust? Lumpy gravy? A frozen bird? Thanksgiving is full of high expectations, a huge menu and a house full of guests--which can make for a stressful day or two in the kitchen. That's why holiday cooks and hosts tune in to The Splendid Table's "Turkey Confidential" with Lynne Rossetto Kasper on Thanksgiving morning. A holiday tradition in kitchens from coast-to-coast, the show gives cooks an open line to Lynne and her guests, providing "turkey triage" by answering calls and emails live on Thursday, November 26, on public radio stations nationwide and online. An all-star lineup of the culinary world's finest will join Lynne this year: three-time James Beard award-winner, chef, writer and Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern; food enthusiast, television personality, and author of nine bestselling cookbooks Nigella Lawson; and world renowned chef, prolific author, gifted artist, public television host and culinary legend Jacques Pépin.

StoryCorps' Dave Isay will join Lynne to talk about one dish that may be missing from your Thanksgiving table--meaningful conversation. He'll discuss StoryCorps' ambitious holiday oral history project, The Great Thanksgiving Listen.

Jacques Pépin is world renowned as the host of his acclaimed and popular cooking programs on public television, and as a prolific author, respected instructor, and gifted artist. Pépin was awarded the highest honor by the French Government and holds the title of CHEVALIER DE L'ORDRE NATIONAL DE LA LEGION D'HONNEUR. Pépin is taping the upcoming series "Essential Pepin" in October 2010 for KQED in San Francisco.
