Talking Volumes is pleased to announce that musician Jim Roll will be performing at Rick Moody's Talking Volumes appearance on May 22, 2002. Roll is a songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Inhabiting the Ball, his new CD on Telegraph Company Records, features lyrics on eight of 13 songs by authors Rick Moody (The Ice Storm, The Black Veil, Demonology) and Denis Johnson (Jesus' Son). Inhabiting the Ball is released with the hearty support of Dave Egger's McSweeney's Literary Journal and features liner notes by Harper Collins and McSweeney's satirist Neal Pollack. Inhabiting the Ball has been called a "remarkable new record" by The New Yorker and has received nationwide acclaim, including kudos by the Los Angeles Times, Village Voice, and NPR's Fresh Air.
